Fred was ranting on the reaction to pulling all
the kids out of the "Compound in Texas" and
how we should a done quite a bit more in the
face of the Catholics child sex abuse scandal
but this is insanity Like Where's the outrage?
(pulling all 416 children away
from their mothers,) a police action that is overboard.
Fred does commentary as only he can and leads
into a great tune of his, "18 Wheels", (Which is
a track from his previous "Millie's Cafe" recording)

Fred's "scat" between songs was completely entertaining
just like his tunes, this guy is forged of such broad based musical roots,
seemingly approaching the almost oldtime street gospel vibe of his latest recording "Tinderbox" ,
the dude is legend.

His opener for the show was Audrey Auld Mezera
a fantastic Aussie artist who played on my show
the day before this gig, she's
@ AudreyAuld.com she founded & runs
RecklessRecords.com
which if you've never been there worthy
of checking out some great Aussie talents
that mingle w/ Roots & Ameri-kinda (Audrey's
word) music .

His analogy between the abuse scandal in the catholic chuch and the situation with the kids in texas is not a very good one. The catholic church does not have child abuse in its charter (although it did a horrible thing by trying to hide what was going on and not removing the priests involved immediately) while this splinter group of mormans apparently did.

I would imagine the local authorities are sorting through the mess and most of the kids will be reunited with their parents. I'm just glad it wasn't a situation like waco, and no one was killed during the raid.

Well the "Where's the outrage" aspect is the same for me for both,
both being supremely twisted, yet the media has painted the reality of the Mormon plight in questionable and sensationalist mode.
Both are (Forgive me but;) SEX in the Name of God.

I agree with the outrage comment. I've just followed the story a little bit from the paper, so I really haven't seen the sensationalism aspect of the coverage.

Go Fred. Sensation and Sex sells everything in the media. Without one or the other there is no story.
