When the left or right button is pressed, electricity causes a dendrite to grow in real time between the central probe and a left or right circular electrode.
Switching the voltage in reverse the green led turns to red and the probe becomes positive relative to the electrode, when a button is then pressed the dendrites recede.

The device is a demonstrator for a new type of memory that grows under electrochemical deposition being developed by Axon Technologies.
