Learning new skills through employment gives meaning, purpose, social experience and mental stimulation, and employees at Orana's Meningie Nursery in South Australia were given a boost when they were given a grant from Aussie Farmers Foundation in 2013.
Orana’s nursery employs adults with a disability and it supplies native plants to local communities for replanting programs. Growing high numbers uses a lot of water and the grant upgraded the irrigation system which will allow growing to increase to 200,000 plants a year.
