A chilling 17 degrees set the stage for Grand Rapids' first-ever outdoor game on Dec. 30, 2013, in which the Griffins battled the Toronto Marlies at Comerica Park as part of Detroit's Hockeytown Winter Festival. The historical match against our neighbors to the north culminated in a thrilling shootout finish beneath the Detroit skyline in front of a crowd of 20,337.
