Still cameras take the best video. Did you shoot in raw?
  • Robbie 2 months ago
Oh no, I get about 200 photos on my card in raw, but on the highest quality JPEG I get over 1000 photos. I was so happy when they came out looking that way! Thank you for watching!

i loved this. the photos seemed to go well with the photos in some random way -- someone mentioned a music video, and i think they are right! i wondered, in the end, if the girl in the room at the end was the part of "tell her" of the song.

i'm wondering how you transfered all of those photos into a video? what was the process? what a great project...

Very nicely done, very strong feelings.
  • Robbie 2 months ago
Thank you so much, I am happy people are saying it has strong feelings and emotions. The first night I took photos and found the music I was blown away emotionally and I had no plan for it to be a peice with stong feelings when I started, so I am glad people are seeing it as one!

My favorite part was the way you captured people. Everything looked great, but the scenes with your family and friends were the best. Good job!

cool very vibrant. I think it should have finished with the section of your friends in the bedroom and not gone back to transport.
    top stuff. :-)
  • Robbie 2 months ago
Yeah, that was the hardest part the end, it took me the longest. But what I thought is that it should end the way it started. I wanted the feel of it going on forever. Thank you, I am glad I got some feed back on that!

That was definitely not a series of photos.

Unless your camera can do 25 fps, of course.

Nice! I like it. I agree somewhat with Sitbonzo about the ending - but then, I guess the way you left it speaks more about your personality too. :)

love your stopmotion film! it's so full of real life energy! i'm a media arts teacher in inner-city LA (formerly a massachusetts-ite, born bred) in a few weeks i'm about to embark on a brand new ad/venture of teaching 5 classes of animation (emphasizing stopmotion). i'd LOVE to show your film as a great sample of how my students can make stopmotion films about their own lives- day-in-the-life-style pieces. i'm including a link below of some similar, non-animated movies we did as a final project last month:
    campus.digication.com/BellPhoto/My_Life_Digital_Stories/

is there any way you could share with me a higher res copy of your film that I could present to my animation classes?

we just received a brand new large screen LCD projector to preview great animations to inspire the students. we start school the 1st of July.

    please email your response.

again, kudos on a great piece!

That was wonderful, watching it really does provide a strange emotional attachment to your life. It's wonderfully effective.

I'm seven weeks away from making a big move from London to San Francisco, and I'd love to document it like this.

Additional kudos for using Lightspeed Champion. Dry Lips is a magnificent piece of music.

I have spent my whole life gravitating toward Boston, and I used to take the T through North Station all the time. In fact, I still do, but somehow this video stirs up profound nostalgia. Well done...
