Students took to the Quiet Green today to re-enact the Battle of Kadesh, one of the most extensively documented battles in Ancient Egyptian history. In front of nearly 100 onlookers, students from Laurel Bestock's Ancient Egytian Warfare class and others, wearing tan and white t-shirts to signify whether they were on the side of Egypt or Hatti, armed themselves with swords and shields and acted out various stages of the epic battle as an MC narrated. The purpose of the battle was to educate a broader audience on Egyptian military strategies and history.
