Something about this video and making a hologram little girl just feels evil.

Before I start with this... can it be clarified if this is a proof of concept, prototype, or a final product? (EDIT: I see a lot of previous use of AIRstrike and Catchyoo, but "iHolo" appears to be a new technology?)

It's Neat! But where's the actual interactivity, other than a sensor that detects the position of the person's arm? She doesn't actually interact, the system just applies a visual filter over her image... It's more like a "reaction" or "control" rather than interactivity.

Other stuff at LM3 labs has blown my mind a lot more than this... that's all I'm trying to say ;-)

This is a MUCH better example of Airstrike, for those who are just stumbling upon this video and haven't seen the rest:

    vimeo.com/794011

A much neater use of the visual interaction with the child would be to film a bunch of responses that all end at centred position frame, and have her react to you reaching out to touch her... maybe?

Also, is it front or rear projected? It's tough to tell in the video.

    Either way, neat.

    Dear All,
    Thanks for your comments.
Scott you are right the movie you refer to is a better showreel of AirStrike. But not all applications leverage the full range of gestures and actions of AirStrike...

Obviously, this new pointing device (as it is a pointing device after all), lets interactivity take many forms and this is actually what we wanted to show: PC, Holograms, Large Screens,...

As long as you can point in the air, you can interact. Isn't it some kind of... revolution ? ;-)

And to reply your intro question: this is a demo (content) about AirStrike which is a product you can buy today.

We reserve it to exclusive projects but are working with industrials for embedding into keyboards and laptops.

As markets are numerous, integrations will vary. There is 1 version today for out-of-home intallations. Happy to share details with you off-line. n.

  • Nicolas Loeillot plus 2 years ago

You are not too far from reality. We are based in Japan and our offices are Japanese size... too small. ;-)
