Here is an example of a shot progression. It starts out in 2d, then a 3d animatic, the propper environment geometry is added, the final musical score is added, the voice actors, but still unedited by the sounddesigner,
a effect dummy for the ice block is added, the final animation and a vfx layer, then a compositing stage close to
final, and at the very end a layer showing the geometry and the rig control objects.
