The Graduate School at the University of Maryland is proud to offer an annual program called “Preparing USG Students for Graduate Studies.” The program meets weekly during the spring semester at the Universities at Shady Grove campus. In collaboration with the Center for Academic Success at Shady Grove, the program provides undergraduates, post-baccalaureate students, and alumni of the Universities at Shady Grove with knowledge and tools to prepare for graduate school. Administrators, faculty, and staff from University System of Maryland institutions are invited to participate as speakers and panelists, where they share their expertise in this series of colloquia and workshops. Sessions focus on topics such as the value of graduate education, the application process, funding, and test preparation. The program aims to increase the number of underrepresented students applying to and enrolling in graduate school. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Maryland.
