1. Mostly Bears: Stop Motion Music Video
We shot 10,000 stills to create this video. Basically, after each picture was taken, the actor would take 3 steps backwards. This gave it the effect of traveling in reverse. The band is called Mostly Bears. Check out their myspace page for more info. Great Band.

Actor: Jesse Martinez
Director: Justin Cale Martinez

I've been told that the mouth gives it a creepy feel.

    bravo
not a real lip dub of course but a creative work...
    so welcome !

Thanks for including me in the Lip Dub Stars channel. It's not easy to get people to see creative work, and you have helped me. Its my mouth singing, but I realize it's not a real lip dub, in the current way we think of lip dubs. I can't say thanks enough though.

I really liked it. I'm probably missing the whole point, bu tI really would have liked it better without the mouth.

sorry. Great all the same though!

Fantastic! The mouth was weird for me at first but 10 seconds in I loved it. Nice job Mr. Martinez. What city was that?

favorite part was the ferris wheel and how the cars weren't really moving but the colors where flashing from purple to yellow

i don't really understand the mouth, but i am no expert in film, explain?
  • Justin Martinez 3 months ago
Honestly, the purpose of the mouth was to separate the actor from the singer. Since he is not the singer of the band, I didn't want people to get confused. More importantly, I didn't want to offend the singer of the band, since they aren't well known at this time. My original idea for the thing, was to have it look like he was actually singing in all those stop motion shots. Which would be a much better effect overall, but one I will have to save for the future. The piece of paper I have on his mouth right now is stamped with the band logo. And I tried to make it feel as if it's its own character. Thanks for the interest.

Absolutely fantastic. I love the song, love the clip. I can well imagine the time and effort that went into it. The mouth was a little scary looking though - :) Well done!
