One-page charcoal animation: "Skeletree"
A morbid little animation I did for my Intro to Animation class. It's all done on one piece of paper, drawing and rubbing out the charcoal rather than drawing cell by cell using a light box (those videos soon to come, I'm sure).
I learned about 500 things I'd do differently the next time around... like not setting my mini-tripod on a lightweight speaker on carpet and then moving it all around when I walk (the cause of all the jiggling), and not ignoring all the rules of animation (the cause of the apple falling wayyy too slowly).
Also the main "metamorphosis" and kind of the whole point of the animation was the very end part. I spent too much time on the build-up, and by time I got around to the end it was late and I was tired and I was already nearing my 80 required drawings, and thus, the animation suffered.
Ah well, it's a learning process.
