1. test 1920x1080 movie

In 2005, a Dutch building contractor named Johan Huibers started to build a "replica" at about scale 1:2 of Noah's Ark with his own hands. Read more on arkvannoach.com/language/en/abouttheark.htm

This video is a ~10 minute impression of it, in my usual relaxed pace ;-). I added some extra facts with undertitling.

I was working in very low light, and I did want at least 1/50 as I'm shooting 1080i50 only. I gues the gain was maxed out and I got pretty much noise.

It looked like you were using a stabilizer... what kind?
  • w.pasman 4 months ago
Yes I'm using the steadicam merlin.

A fantastic video tour of the replica-Noah's Ark. Your steadicam works great!

Thanks! For me the steadicam is what makes video work. And it's this kind of confined mazelike stuff where a small steadicam is at its best. Especially walking stairs would be next to impossible without steadicam. Especially low shots like the one at 7:30 work very nice

    Thanks!

I love staring at full HD images, its colors, contrast and sharpness. A faster pace would just make that joy last shorter, though I want to ensure steady progress :-D It's nice to hear that this is no problem for at least part of the audience.

You choose interesting subjects and then make interesting films. I really liked this. Your shots and timing of them made it seem I was there with you. Thanks
