Use DOWNLOAD LINK for better quality and color (VBR 2 pass 7/10m).
Waterfall GPS: N47 26.743 W121 41.900

UPDATE: I've created HF100 settings faq here: lucienk.spaces.live.com/blog/cns%21A4AE3FB12A26635%211108.entry

NOTE: I used Vegas Pro to render but I noticed you get some sharpness loss (maybe Vegas downscale or deinterlace issue, still investigating). I'll probably re-upload it one day.

Unedited and shot with HF100 and H37C wide-angle (note I tried to avoid full zoom with this wide-angle lens since it has CA at full tele, I use otherwise WD-H43). Settings:

- Custom mode: contrast -1
- 60i
- Daylight W/B

For the waterfall I reduced exposure a bit.

  • Thanks for the posting of your HF100 tests. Judging from the footage it looks the wide angle lens H37c is indeed useful for zoom-through without vignetting. Taken into account the chromatic abberation at the extreme zoom position, how far would you rate the zoom-through to be useful? Some 80% of tele?

I'd estimate that it starts gradually around 80% but I didn't test the exact range.
This video shows some full zoom at the last waterfall, maybe that gives you an idea (you noticed it's blurred and that doesn't seem a focus issue but rather lens issue).
