For Mother’s Day we’re asked to do a bit of a stretch in our thinking. Granted, “a woman’s work is never done,” but that does not mean that we should think of mothers as “slaving” at their role. And yet the advice 1 Peter offers Christians directs us to see that “slaving” or suffering in fulfillment of a role can bear fruit in Christian lives if we patern our lives on what we see in Jesus.
