A short animation commissioned by Faber & Faber to promote the release of Andrew O'Hagan's novel The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog and of His Friend Marilyn Monroe. I designed, directed and animated the whole thing myself. The music is Bean Bag by Jeff Curry.

    So very great. You really fire with all cylinders! Masterful control of designs and color and composition and texture and mood and movement and timing and transition and music and typography and... (etc.) Brilliant melding of today's slick vector tools with retro, handmade-looking aesthetic details. A million-and-one great little choices going on. The zen balance here just makes it all look too easy. (darn ya!) ~~ The pacing is brutally fast, I'd say, but I suppose that only makes it more tantalizing to watch. ~~ I've revisited several times & I'm certainly glad there's a pause button. :) ~~ Fantastic.
