For six weeks, Kulture Klub Collaborative invited artist Jenny Lion to be in residence to re-create The Love Tapes, a video project originally conceived by artist Wendy Clarke in the 1970’s. Participants create three minute long videos where they share their feelings about love. If they approve of their tape, the video is included in an archived collection.
Kulture Klub Collaborative youth have made their own tapes and developed a way to support other participants in shooting Love Tapes. We have spoken with Wendy, designed and built a video booth, painted backdrops, selected music, and watched many of Wendy Clarke’s original tapes.
We would like to thank Wendy Clarke for her generous assistance.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Kulture Klub Collaborative is generously supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, McKnight Foundation, Youthprise, the Target Foundation, United Arts Affiliate, the MN Department of Human Services Office of Economic Opportunity, and YouthLink.
