beautiful environmental work. What lenses are you referring too when you list the "4,5mm f/2,8"? Thats some crazy focal measurements!
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
It is a lens provided by Sigma which gives you a circular image at almost 180 degrees... I kind of like it! Even if it cannot be used to much because it s kind of weird aspect!

I just found this video randomly through a link on twitter. I know nothing about film, but I have been in Uyuni and I am a short story writer, and this film really spoke to me. It has the uncanny quality of a haunting short story. I had to join vimeo to tell you. You have a gift.
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
It s really a pleasure to help Vimeo bring some people to subscribe to the site! Apart of this I really appreciate a lot what you said, and I m all the more to have been able to touch someone who is not in movies at all.
Thanks a lot for what you said
  • GBurnyeat 1 year ago
You're most welcome! I wonder if you ever use short stories as a starting point or plot for film? I think your style would be very suited to the cuentos of Julio Cortazar...
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
I've been doing some researc on Julio COrtazar, I do like it, I'm going to see if I can adapt sthg! Thanks for the advise

What a beautiful place, and a beautifully done film. I visited Bolivia a few years ago. It is a beautiful place with beautiful people. Well done!
  •
  • What was the significance of the Einstein field equation on the train? I don't mean for your video. Just curious where that train was all about.
Lovely use of Martinez's track by the way!
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
The Einstein formula is realtivity here I think (not totally sure) and it was written on a trains which was in a cemetery for train where all accidented vehicules were stocked. I think Newton s law would have been more significant but maybe I don t get the meaning...
  • Yeah it's definitely general relativity theory. Sadly i'm a physicist so i kinda honed in on that one :)
Just thought it was a curious thing to see on a train. Wondered whether the train had some historical significance in relation to Einstein. Where is this cemetery?
    Thanks
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
The cemetery is in the Salar of Uyuni, in Bolivia. It' a place where all disabled train are stocked, rustying... Can't tell you about the historical meaning, nonetheless I think it's more an "artist" who wanted to leave a footprint in this place...

  • You have a flair for the sureal...
Push it as far as you can go
    I recomend a tighter edit , but it's just a suggestion.

Is it possible to film at that location , I love it
    love the film .
What lens for the ecu on the eye????
    Simply awesome !!!!!!
    Jimmy Daniel
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
Thanks for the suggestion! Im actually working on another editing with Constantin Phlippou (you can check his work here: vimeo.com/constantinz) composing the music, I am thinking about making so shots shorter but maybe I m going to lose a bit of this surrealistic mood.
Well for the moment I m working on it!
For the lens, the macro on the eye is a reversed simple 50mm and for the timelapse in fisheye well... it s afisheye! Sigma 4,5mm f/2.8

Amazing! My favorite shot is the time lapse 1:48. Did you increase the contrast in the sky in order to get those deep blacks around the clouds? I'm interested in what kind of color-correction you did.
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
The color correction has been done manually with after effect, I'm more using color now but for this particuliar shot it was easier to work directly with after effect masks.

Muy buen video....note un detalle casi al final no se si es un error o lo hiciste asi, se ve la mascara que hiciste en el iris del ojo, 2 21 a 2:26... error de edicion?.... de cualquier forma muy bueno
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago

Muchas gracias!
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
Well, I'm working with a Macbook pro from last summer (dual core, 8gb ram, 500gig hard drive, Last graphic card, ...) but for a PC I think you need a little bit more. And it's better to work on a pc station than a laptop I think.

    Hey man, nice shots.

Did you do any stabilisation in AE?
  • Ayrton Orio plus 1 year ago
Yes, some of the shots were stabilized, I had broken my tripod during the trip so I didn't really have any other choice.

Beautiful work! Maybe with added lens?

...Please, recently I have bought a 60D. Which is the best solution to avoid the video noise in difficult light situations and in the evening in indoor? I would like to have your opinion... Thank you very much!
  • Ayrton Orio plus 8 months ago
Yes, added lens. The best option is fast lenses, meaning, great aperture. For example, the 30mm f1.4 from Sigma is very interesting. However, the best option is to add lights!
    Cheers
