Preserving local culture and history. Keeping alive the tradition of agriculture in early Hawai’i. Enlightening our generation through hands-on learning, planting native species, removing litter, and learning about how Hawaiian people lived generations ago. These are the efforts of the Mālama Learning Center, which worked with students from Kapolei High School, Nānākuli High School, and Hale o 'Ulu Alternative Learning school on activities that included beach cleanups, weed removal, and the reintroduction of native plant species to the land. The project was funded by NOAA's BWET program and Pacific Links Hawai'i Foundation. This video was created by students of Kapolei High School's Digital Media class under the direction of Victor Salazar, Jr. May 2014
