We made it back out to Agari Farm a few weeks back. It was incredible to see how much has happened in under a month. The earth bag building had grown twice as high, the outdoor kitchen was fully built with beautiful cob walls and a small house was just being finished up by a crew of workshopers learning natural building techniques.
Campbell, one of the resident builders had a few moments to show us their newly constructed Rocket Stoves. The stoves are made from brick and cob and burn small sticks as opposed to larger firewood. The real beauty of a well made rocket stove is that it burns CLEAN!! Another awesome advantage over a standard wood stove is the diameter of the wood needed is much smaller.
They have plans to build a Rocket Mass Heater, that uses the same principles as the Rocket Stove but pumps all the heat generated into a thermal mass that then slowly releases it over the day. We'll be sure to get back up there to put together a short on the developments!
