Soulard Mardi Gras has several events leading up to Grand Parade Day and Fat Tuesday. This video shows a glimpse of what happens at the Southern Comfort Taste of Soulard and The Beggin' Strips Barkus Pet Pardade.
On Feb 6, 2010, The Taste of Soulard offered 20 "tastes" of Soulard's finest restaurants and shots of Southern Comfort (Mardi Gras sponsor) while being trolleyed around the neighborhood. Julie Price was a "trolley tramp" on bus #1 that afternoon. Her job was to entertain and hand out beads, but as you will see, she was entertained by the partiers that boarded her trolly.
The next day, Feb 7th, was the Barkus Pet Parade. This is one of the worlds largest pet parades, with thousands of dogs and other animals, walking through the streets of Historic Soulard in St. Louis. On this video, you even get the see up close, the Wiener Dog Race! Check it out.
