A-ha themed FILMIES introduction (2008)
My 10 second introduction at our SAIT graduation this April. Just as it feels great to graduate, it feels even better to have an audience love the work that you've produced.
This here is an A-Ha themed video (remember the 80's?) that I used for my introduction at the screening. Originally the plan was to rotoscope the video (drawing over each frame to give it an animated look) but looking forward from the halfway point made me realize I still had near 12 hours of hard work left and only 2 days to complete it in.
I took the easy way out, imported the video into Photoshop as .flm files and exported about 3 layers, all of which had been filtered differently. I then used After Effects to blend between the new layers and the original, posturized the frame rate and animated a still image as for the background.
