IRS (pour Immersive Rail Shooter) reformule des éléments virtuels du jeu vidéo de tir et intègre des objets physiques en tant qu'interface tangible. Entre virtualité augmentée et réalité mixte, IRS utilise l'espace comme aire de jeu et engage tout le corps du joueur dans une intense partie de rail shooter.

Démo du prototype en temps réel. Oui, il y a quelques bugs dans la détection du joueur, d'où le décalage entre les mouvements de la personne et ceux de l'avatar.

IRS (for Immersive Rail Shooter) reformulates virtual elements of shooter video games and gives to physical objects an tangible interface dimension. Between augmented virtuality and mixed reality, IRS uses the space as playground and engages the player body in an intense rail shooter game.

Real time prototype demo. Yes, there are some bugs with the player tracking. That's why there is a time lag between the guy and his avatar.

    Excellent stuff.
    Looks not only a cool concept, but fun to play too.

    I wonder if this could be combined with headtracking? As you already got a marker on the head, if the angle sensativity is well enough, you could do some good-old Johney-Lee style perspective tricks to improve immersion.

    First Person rail shooter with headtracking was my first idea, but because of the high sensibility of the tracking system, I dropped it out. Here you can see a first experimentation : vimeo.com/7816948
