Following the visit that mayor Eberhard van der Laan paid to his Berlin colleague Klaus Wowereit in December 2013, an Amsterdam delegation of creative entrepreneurs, or ‘city makers’ as we prefer to call them, went on a three day ‘bottom-up trade mission’ to Berlin. Their main goal was to complement the acquaintance between the two cities on the institutional level, by enhancing the exchange of knowledge and practice between non-institutional parties and, most importantly, across these two levels.

On December 11 the delegation opened the Amsterdam City Embassy in Platoon Kunsthalle, in order to give this exchange a more sustainable character. The opening of the City Embassy took place in the presence of mayor Van der Laan.

And now the time has come to take the step in the opposite direction.
