    The new Fringe intro?

Awesome way to demo this. I must say though that I think indirect lighting is a poor name for this feature. I can't see why it is in any way indirect. This is more like a glow or simply emit and the light is directly emitted to another object.

Very nice to see quality ways to show off Blender's capabilities.

    Congrats!

@goosey: direct light means from a traditional lightsource, ie a spotlight, directional light, omni light.

indirect light means from anything else... light emitted from surfaces via their material, light that bounces from a 'real' light, off a surface, then onto another surface.

How did you make the cones move out of the way for the sphere moving through it? (the first scene)

I suspect "Cast Modifier" was used.

Are the shadows in the 7th scene made with an additional lightsource?

Phantastic demo of the possibilties from Blender´s indirect lightings.

No lights at all. All lighting comes from the objects.

    woooow i <3 Blender :-D
  •
  • Real indirect light comes from bounced light.
Light emitted from surfaces via material is a source of direct light.
It can fake indirect ilumination with enough sources placed where should be iluminated by the bounced light. Also keeping in mind more things like the surface color from the bounced light comes.
    Very interesting blender improvement.

How did you achieve the array effect at 00:21?
  • Martin Lindelöf 1 year ago
animate the number of objects in the array?, the offset is at a constant, in the others he might animate the offset value, or use a empty.

    Wonderful piece!

Your clean and high quality test renders of this new feature fill me with inspiration! I cannot wait to start experimenting with this new feature myself.

I really appreciate how the music you chose tastefully compliments the visuals.

Thank you for the demonstration and inspiration!

Can you apply multiple colors to one object? Have each face a different color?
