It is very often that we visit the unknown space and keep all our senses and receptors very active. Among many studies of human behavior, it is often recognized that the first impression we give plays an important if not permanent impression of who we are and no doubt, what someone else is. However, with more time and engagement, then we transform these thoughts into many compartments of relationships, without a singular description.
I live in a city that is full of happenings, movements, fumes, beauties, hopes, contradicts and visions all of which stare right back at me. A "Stockholmer" spent four days in Nairobi and when I asked her what it was like, she said "after coming back, i felt like I just came out of a tumble dryer". I was not surprised as I was speaking to a “Stockholmer” and perhaps didn't expect anything specific yet this view, as all others, is derived from a different centre. It is through realizing that there are probably many centers that we can dare explain something, or illustrate an impression of, or experience of something.
With this piece, I dare to describe my impression of Stockholm, perhaps Sweden, or perhaps Södermalm albeit any other descriptions and explanations that may counter my impressions. I could go into the depth of a more cautious reaction but that is not my immediate concern. I would have to spend one year, then five year, then a life time probing to make a little more researched expression, but that will never give an absolute elucidation.
