Fire Eagle is a new web service for 'geoscrobbling' your location: fireeagle.com

It lets you give permission for third party applications to either update your location, or to access your current location on the planet.

Here, Tom Coates ( plasticbag.org/about/ ) talks about Fire Eagle and the various applications currently using it. This was the Fire Eagle Developer Evening in London, on the 30th April 2008.

Afterwards, Seth Fitzsimmons ( mojodna.net ) and Steve Marshall ( nascentguruism.com/about/ ) talked about the architecture of Fire Eagle and how to authenticate applications, using Python and Ruby. And I ran out of memory (in a manner of speaking)...
