Gabriel i used glidecam v25, one HV20, no lenses, and a homemade skateboard wheeled dolly.

thx timo for your kind words. i did put a lot of effort and money i guess into this one.

  • Well done. The music if fantastic. Some great shots in there. I'm impressed (I have the same camera.) How did you get that really high-up shot of the motorcycle?

This really blew me away and pretty much made my totally unproductive day worth living :D

The lighting effects and transitions were inspiring, the first scene was stunning, and I'm still wondering how you got away with a skateboard dolly. Good work!

Actually for that shot, i was on top of a mountain, fully zoomed in to the ground. Pretty easy stuff :)

Very nice camera work and catchy shots!
    Just a few remarks.
A few shots look overexposed, especially in the introduction. Is this deliberately?
Maybe more seriously, I have a hard time following the story(s?), it seems lacking coherence. Have seen that before with eastern movies, maybe it's just me or maybe it's the greek style. For instance there's a shot showing just a piece of road. I then wonder, what's up? Or that piece with the boy wanting to leave. What's the relation with the other parts?
  • ermitikos 2 years ago
W.Pasman thank you for your constructive remarks. I agree with most of what you say. This was my first 'professional' short movie and obviously it has some flaws. You are right about the overexposure, that was bad CC. As far as the story is concerned, or the road shot, its just a complementary shot to show that the town has been evacuated and is now desolate. The stories are not related to each other. Each one is supposed to live on its own. The boy (if you mean the bearded guy) leaves town and goes to a monastery.

Its great to see serious narrative story shot with the HV20 camera. It looks like "spot light" mode was used. This is most important for image quality. I think it is good to stay with the lens the camera came with and not "add on" with other lens. I personally feel it degrades the image quality. The compositions and camera movement are good. The interiors seem "too bright". You can light the characters and keep the light off of the background, it will help to direct a viewers eye to the action. I say that mainly because I was not sure in some of the shots if it was a day interior or night interior.
    GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!

The introduction is ingenious. The shots are great. But whenever there is story, it just loses me. I can tell from shot one it's constructed. I know it's terribly difficult to pull this off though. Congratulations and keep it going.
