Twice a year, the Connecticut Fire Academy conducts a 15 week recruit training program for career and volunteer firefighters. The recruits eat, sleep, and train as a unit with the goal of improving physical fitness, academic knowledge, and practical fireground skills to be applied out in the field. This film, put together by the recruits, follows Recruit Class 53 from the first cold and snowy day in February through the conclusion of live fire training in May.
