very cool, how do you set/maintain focus with that camera? I have a 7d and the whole focus thing has me scratching my head, so far the only success I've had is with high f stops and sujbects that barely move.
  •
  • Marty Stalker plus 1 year ago
My Marshall monitor is a life saver for focus pulling- you can see me using it on the Behind The Scenes video on my profile. Expensive but worth the investment. Nothing worse then when you come back to your editing station and you throw up an image on the screen- it's a money shot but unusable because it's out of focus. Trust me, I've been there!

Such an amazing clip! - plus it was only done by a DLSR Camera. I have a Nikon D90 and I too want to learn how to come up with such marvelous short films.

Gorgeous film, disturbed by the content. Infidelity or not, the metaphor of domestic violence as rightful retribution made my guts churn unhappily.

  • Paxson Woelber 1 year ago
Well done, well done. The plot is a bit ambiguous, but there's nothing wrong with that.

  • Marty Stalker plus 1 year ago
Hi Anson, due to the fact that we don't have a sound guy in the production team, I had to record the audio using a Sennheiser ME66/K6 from a Sony EX3 camera. Bit of a nightmare to sync up in post but you just work with what you have at the time. I'm really starting to get into my lighting and the bar scenes had a pink perspex filter in front of my soft box light to emphasize the neon lighting that was already present. As Red Sky Visuals has already commented, we use custom white balance settings on the camera.

Not one I'l be showing to the children. I liked the start best, not so sold on the bear story/twist. Would have liked the protagonist to win but in a good way, with some moral victory to really sock it to his mrs.
