Good video, great style, but the text reads a bit fast for my taste. You've got a lot of great info that I want to read without having to pause your video.
  • FloFi 6 months ago
Same for me. But eventhough it's very pretty ;)
  • Videogénique plus 6 months ago
hmm tricky! slower text might make the entire video heavier and "boring" (although this video is FAR from boring). Fast text keeps you on the edge of your seat ... encouraging you to replay the video.. which counts as another hit! hehe!
  • Chris Tarroza plus 5 months ago
Good points. I think I'm used to text being on and off screen so quickly that I actually thought it stayed a bit too long at some points. That's just me of course!

Great job btw, like the colours, the animations and an interesting message!

Great video facts but way too fast to get them all. Yes, had to view a few times, and if hits you want, they are induced.
Fascinating statistics, though. Where did they come from and how long will these estimates stick?

Yes, very nice indeed. Please however, don't show a number, then on the next page/slide show what it meant. How are we going to remember some abstract number? Please keep it like you have on many slides - show the number, then add what it means - while the number is still visible! :-)

great work but... in last map i find 2 mistakes:
    1. hi5 is for china not poland, and mirrorly: nasza klasa is for poland not china!!!
    2. mistype: Nasza-kLIasa (corectly nasza-klasa or just nk)

Good stuff Jesse and crew. I need to pause on that last frame to see the sites where your stats came from. The whole time I was thinking, where'd they get the stats? Also, love the style and the music. Do you guys do any website design for hire?
  •
  • Tom Moertel 6 months ago
If I can offer a typographic suggestion, please don't misuse an opening quotation mark as an apostrophe. The year 1999, for example, should be abbreviated ’99 not ‘99. Most programs that offer "smart" quotes get this wrong, so it's important to double-check their suggestions. See the Wikipedia entry on the Apostrophe for more.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe#Smart_quotes

    Cheers!

Elegant design, but the Earth is turning the wrong way. The sun rises in the east, so the world turns counter clockwise if you see it from above, or to the right if you're over the Equator.

    /cross-posted in the comments at Designer's Couch/

This is just fantastic. Everything from the design to the execution was just perfect. I was just talking with some fellow students the other day about how visual communication is changing to become more engaging to the reader/viewer and this is a prime example of that. This really inspires me to look more into the communication of mundane things like statistics in such a creative and almost interactive manner.
