This is a unique church plant in Johannesburg. Sophiatown was at the heart of appartheid struggle. Sophiatown became the symbolic center of black culture around Johannesburg in the 1940s and ‘50s. Like Harlem in New York City, it was a focus of arts, politics, religion, and entertainment.
However, during the appartheid years, the blacks were forcibly removed to make way for lower-income whites. Today it is melting pot of cultures and races.
