Caribbeana Communications Inc. (CCI), a Maryland 501(c)(3) non-profit media broadcasting company, is celebrating 25 years of cultural diversity and innovation in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
To commemorate this achievement, Caribbeana is hosting a Comedy Festival as its major fundraiser at University of Maryland, College Park's Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, Dekelboum Concert Hall on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 7:00PM. During this show CCI will announce its scholarship recipient of $1,000 to study in fields of media, communication, and journalism. In addition, the audience will hear artists from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados, and America showcase their talents that will make you, 'Laugh Out Loud' or feel the beat of the Caribbean.
For over 25 years Caribbeana has been executing our mission of educating, entertaining and enlightening all that reflects the Caribbean through media. Caribbeana has heralded many Caribbean born scientists, educators, inventors, statesmen, entertainers, actors, doctors and lawyers who have added to the cultural diversity of the local DMV community, the nation and abroad. Caribbeana also brought and encouraged innovation in a multitude of fields such as health care, communications, technology, transportation, agriculture, energy, education, science,and law. The Comedy Festival is another vehicle that allows Caribbeana to orally communicate its history in America and the present while focusing on contributions from the Caribbean Diaspora for the future.
