Funny how the architect mentions that they had to use some space saving techniques to "fit so many people in such a small space". 5 people in 1400 sq ft is not exactly like sardines. Having 1 bedroom for 4 kids certainly doesn't make sense to me. Why not give each person their own space? If there were 5 bedrooms at say 10x12, that would be 600 sq ft. leaving 800 sq ft for living room, kitchen/dining, bath and utility.
