Carol Edgarian of Narrative Magazine hosts a wonderful discussion between two authors, Rick Bass and James Workman, in San Francisco, at the California Academy of Science. Both authors share their experience in wild places: Rick Bass in the Yaak Valley, Montana, and James Workman with the Bushmen of the Kalahari, Africa. The video shows extraordinary photos and footage of these pristine remote jewels of our planet. The video also supports the Wilderness bill submitted by U.S. Senator Jon Tester. An interesting discussion takes place on the role of stories in our society and whether creative writing and activism are mutually exclusive or can be combined for environmentalists.
