In 2008 I began Are You Me?, a collaborative video poem correspondence project with Berlin-based visual artist Xana Kudrjavcev-DeMilner. By dialoguing in the form of short video, the project’s aim was to explore that mysterious haze that separates all folk. The work is influenced by the immediate environment: the language, land, people, music, imagined and personal stories kept secret and shared, and other unique aspects of each artist’s localized space and experience.

Adopting romantic infatuation as its focus, IN SPACE, was inspired by my travels to Seoul and a fascination with the South Korean media coverage of Korean female astronaut Yi So Yeon’s April 2008 space voyage.
