Hafeez Centre attracts high number of daily visitors, mostly via private transport. As per current building codes and user needs there is a lack of parking spaces in the building and its vicinity. This shortfall translates into traffic jams, public arguments and inconvenience for all. For ship-owners, this translates into lost business, as customers tend to avoid the hassle.
As the city grows denser and more buildings pop-up greater chaos will ensure if existing spatial schematics are not adjusted for real-time volumes and need.
OCCO proposes the construction of a 1000 car and 2000 motorcycle parking near Hafeez Centre. Designed as part of a larger circulation and land use pattern, all buildings in the block will be linked to the parking through a pedestrian network while a traffic corridor between Hali road and Main boulevard will be created through the new plaza to further ease traffic distribution and mobility.
