On a hill in the North of Israel the members of a religious kibbutz, a community of artists and an Arab village – who share a politically fraught history including losing homes and reclaiming identity – live as neighbours on a hillside. Embedded in a rich, yet sometimes harsh natural scenery, their stories allow glimpses into lifeworlds of conflicting narratives of victimhood and guilt, pride and wrongdoings.
On Common Ground was produced as dissertation film for the MA in Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester, 2013
