Very sad story, and what makes it even sadder is that he still thinks there is a god :/

@Sam S - You probably look at this video and think, "He's gonna die and there is no hope."

I look at this video and think, "I want to be a better father, a better husband and a better person and I hope that it doesn't take cancer to make me realize that. Thank you, Zac Smith for showing me a little bit better way to live my life!"

This is a story of redemption instead of a story of sadness. A story of hope that this life is not the end. A story that gives glory to the Creator of all things who gives and takes away not because He doesn't care but because He does care. He cares about all the people who live like there is no God. He cares about Zac. He cares about you Sam S.

God is God. God is Good. To God be the Glory.

Amazing perspective and story. Faced with the same circumstances I would hope I would have the same faith that Zac exhibits. Wonderfully shot and edited.

I pray that if, and most likely when since we all seem to get it sometime in life, I ever get cancer that I am as willing a vessel as Zac Smith is to allow God to fill me over and over that I might be able to pour it out for Him. Thank you for your courage Zac. We are praying!!!!

Powerful! I love the fact that your excellent technical and artistic work shown in this piece just disappears in light of the amazing work God is doing in the story you tell! It is like the scripture "he must increase, I must decrease"

That was an amazing story. God bless you, Zac. Reminds me of Pipers book, Don't Waste Your Cancer.

Great stuff New Spring Media, cinematography was great. Coloration was beautiful. I would suggest toning down the film burns and cutting from the print film back to normal footage. All the visual fluttering gets quite distracting. Besides that, keep it up :)

Wow!!! I pray everyday to be a better mother and wife, and I hope that it doesn't take cancer to push me to really embrace what I have. I pray daily to be more like Jesus, and I desperately want to be a light for Him. I am thankful to you for sharing your story, and I pray it encourages me to really engage in the things that mean the most to me. I admire your strength and courage.

I am standing with you for complete and total healing because I know our Healer, and I know His desire to heal us. I know His love for you and me, and I know He has a plan in all this. Your testimony and your willingness to share your faith will sustain you, and I believe God will honor you.

Peace be with you Zac, and I will pray everyday for your healing and protection for your family.

    God bless.

    Zac,

My name is Grant Grossman. I'm 19 years old and have just gone through some major health issues as well with my large intestine and some other things in my abdomen. I would really love to talk with you and encourage you with my story, just as I have been encouraged by yours. I don't know if you will get this, or if you will respond. But the LORD has put it on my heart to contact you, and I know HE guided me to this video for a reason. I don't do this vimeo thing very well at all, but if you would please email me at grant.grossman@gmail.com I would really appreciate it and it would make me very blessed and a happy young man.

I only hope that if God were to choose to allow this to come into my life that I would have the faith to trust Him as your example shows. I know some days have to be worse than others, but God is faithful, and we are praying for His will to be done.

You know what made me cry? The reminder that God can't give a bad gift. My bad stuff isn't nearly on the order of Zac's, but it's bad enough to us. But God is good.

Zac is walking with the Lord RIGHT NOW!!
If we love this world too much, then we don't look correctly at the BEST thing God has for us,...Eternity with Him.
These things are good, THERE is the best.
So Death, where is your sting?!!!!

"My brethren, count it as joy when you fall into various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience, but let patience have it's perfect work that you might be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."

Zac, obviously you have been given much patience and now lack nothing. Congrats and see you on the other side at the right hand of our savior, Jesus.

I've watched this 5 times now, and it still brings tears to my eyes. God is still God, and God is still good indeed. While it's difficult to understand God's mysterious will, we must believe that it is perfect. Zac is no longer suffering. Zac's story is clearly still ministering to others. I trust that Zac's church is caring for his widow and children. God is good, all the time. To God be the glory for ever and ever. I look forward to eternity with Zac and the rest of you who are sealed for the day or redemption.

I don't know why I'm commenting on this, because I can't say much more than has already been said. I'm 28, I'm a High School/College pastor, I have 4 kids, and I think about them every time I watch this. I just gave a message to our student ministry last night about "suffering well". Considering our trials as pure joy. Thanks, Zac, for teaching so many of us what that actually looks like.
