Really odd. I think as beautifully experimented it is, it is weak in structure. Based on the aberrations and barrel distortion, i'm assuming you put a lens over the camera?

Nevertheless, it's a nice video, but i'd like to see some more.... background than random pics, although this could be entirely personal.

    Good stuff

Yeah the idea popped into my head when I found my portable 30x microscope. I put the camera lens to the microscope lens and went to town. I'm really very happy with the finished product, because at first I wasn't even sure I would be able to make a 5 minute video out of the footage I had taken. But when I imported it all, I had around 10 minutes worth of shots, and I was able to glean from there. As far as the structure goes, I was really trying to capture the progressive feel of the song as well as it's inherent strangeness. I thought shooting through a microscope would do this almost perfectly.
Images pop into my head when I listen to this song; I guess you could call them scientific. I think a lot of Radiohead's music has that quality to it, experimental, ethereal. What I was trying to do was capture, even enhance that feeling.

That is cool that your camera could shoot through the scope. Was it hard to focus?

    No, not at all, actually.

I like the photos of your microscope as well. Did you take those with the video camera?
  • Taylor Gillespie 3 months ago
Well, my video camera is technically just a digital camera, so yeah.
