The Clothes Project investigates the personal connection people have with their wardrobe. People can tie memories of specific events and people, often to an outfit that made a day; their first day of school or a birthday or wedding. More often than not, people hold onto old, beat up, ratty clothing because of its sentimental value but almost never wear them.I met and talked to 5 people from Washington County NY and asked them to give me their old clothes and I would make them something new with them. Rejuvenate the life to the clothes that have sat in drawers for years. This work was made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program with supplemental funding from Rivendell Foundation, administered locally by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council.
