  • Cant wait to see if they come out with some real lenses.
  • Gateway Creation 3 months ago
this is a real lens. and there are several. You do weddings which isn't real work lol so i wouldn't worry about it.
  • XOXO Wedding Studio plus 3 months ago
    wow.
Your obviously a super pro then for saying that.

Thanks for pointing that out though.
Wasn't sure if what i do for a living was "real work" or not.

    Also,
When i posted this, two years ago, they did not have any "real" or tangible lenses available.
There first lens came out April 2010:

    Pffffff!!!!

If you hadn't shot slow motion you could have pushed shutter to 1/50 and halved the ISO.
  • Alessandro Gallo 1 year ago
you are right i didn't get that !

  • Stuart Hooper plus 1 year ago
Yeah I'm totally confused on why 720p is being used for this test. It's darker, softer...

but no auto focus and heavier than 14-140mm.. wait for review first.

50mm on m4/3 is effectively a 100mm focal length. As nice as an f/0.95 aperture might be, isn't 100mm a bit too long to comfortably use for most applications?
  • Eric Ristad 1 year ago
50mm focal length is 50mm focal length, even on m43rds. The only difference is the field of view -- a 50mm on m43rds has 1/2 the field of view as a 50mm on full frame because the sensor is smaller.
  • John Lewis plus 1 year ago
yes i completely understand this, and that's exactly why i said it. you say the "only difference" is the field of view.. but when discussing a visual medium such as ours, don't you find the field of view to be pretty important? especially being as that it's the single most important factor when framing a shot?

anyway, i'm just saying 50mm on a four thirds sensor is tricky to use indoors. i know. i've tried. unless you want anything but close-ups.

i think this will become a far more interesting lens when or if it receives a canon mount.
  • Gateway Creation 3 months ago
good point John. I find the 28mm on GH1 and 2 is a closer 50 ish POV
  • Nitsan Simantov 1 month ago
    there's a 28mm 0.95 and i think also a 0.75 for MFT cameras.
    google it.

    This lens looks amazing though.

why would you shoot that footage at a shutter speed of 1/120th of a second and 800 iso. If you lowered your shutter speed to 60 which is pretty standard for 720 60p you could have shoot that footage at iso 500. If you had lowered your shutter speed even more you could have probably gotten away with iso 320 and it wouldn't have been so noisy
  •
  • Domi plus 1 year ago
    @ josh....its kind of a rule 60fps u go 1/120, 30 fps u go 1/60. read around the 3rd paragraph.

Why 1/120 ? I hope that not cost too much..
  •
  • I want one for my 5D ;)

Any other project of other lens?

  • Hans Bruch, jr. 1 year ago
well, pretty nice, but actually nothing I can't achieve with a zeiss prime! try lighting something at a 2 meter distance with a candle or cell phone light. IF at e.g. 1/50, 800 iso, you manage to see something, then i'm impressed!
Also, Is this a Noktor on a four thirds system? Then you are at at least 5m distance, I'm wondering what the minimum focus distance on this lens is?

    grtz,
    HBJR

This is a rebranded Goyo Opticals lens with a M43 mount. Wonder what mount the Goyo has, if it is a viable and much cheaper alternative with an adaptor?

    idiot, totally different lens.
