This experimental short film was made for Minneapolis and St. Paul's 4th annual Nuit Blanche, Northern Spark [northernspark.org]. It was partially funded by a seed grant from the Hennepin Theatre Trust as part of their MADE HERE initiative, and was shown - in a limited capacity - the night of June 14th, 2014 projected on an interior wall on the second floor of the old National Camera Exchange building at 10th St & Hennepin Ave, downtown Minneapolis [hennepintheatretrust.org/madehere].
This is the first time I have translated my techniques for making photographic light drawings into a video format. You can see some examples of my photographic light drawings here: brianmatthewhart.com
There are certain aspects of this film which can only be seen by a camera. If you have a film or digital camera with the ability to take bulb exposures - or even a long exposure app for your smart phone - you can reveal things unseen by the naked eye. Exposures as short as 3 seconds reveal hidden images embedded within the moving frames of this film. Changing your exposure time and the moment you start your exposure will produce different results, so feel free to try a variety of shots
