I'm working on updating my live video patch. After days of agonizing I finally got the generative geometry to work as an alpha layer. I'll post another video when I trick this out a bit more and add it to my current live setup.

The photograph was taken and edited by Myer Nore.

This is a really cool effect! It seems kind of baroque. So does it work by making random polygons that offset the alpha layer by one? I love how what's going on is really only truly visible when more than one layer overlaps. It really fits the music, and I've not seen it before. Congrats!

thanks man! The geometry is just a bunch of planes moving from point a to point b, but I key out everything that isn't overlapping to create more interesting forms. This was then added as an alpha layer, and I alphablended the same picture over the original but made it a few pixels bigger. I'm going to add some other functions so I can control the image more and add more live elements, but getting this basic functionality was a huge step for me in better understanding how opengl rendering works in jitter.
