Here is a brief tutorial for those getting started with 3D. This explains how to take separate Left and Right eye CineForm AVI or MOVs and multiplex them into a single CineForm 3D clip.

Update 5/19/2010: While the Muxing features within FirstLight haven't change too much, there are many more 3D feature with the latest Neo3D release.

    Brilliant!

David, are NeoHD and FirstLight compatible with Windows 7 64bit now? I'm still running NeoHDV on XP here, but plan on upgrading to Neo HD once I make the switch to Windows 7 64bit, or get myself a new camera.

Also, how well does this work when using live video footage that might be half a frame out of sync?

One other thing, can these 3d clips be composited over the top of one another easily enough? For example, if you have an actor shot on green/bluescreen and a 3d CGI background created using a virtual camera with the same focal length?

Window 7 64-bit and FirstLight work great (better then XP.)

Half frame out of sync will be an issue for action sequences. Genlock your cameras if possible. Note: RealD and Dobly3D projection present frames slight out of sync, 1/6th of a frame, so we have some tolerance for this.

Compositing is still mostly a manual process, we will aid that further in the future.
