After taking a risk last autumn and personally bankrolling the BIKESBC video series for the 2013-2014 academic year, I was able to film five insightful and fun episodes with the help of local film expert Michael Bruno. These episodes featured environmental science and human physiology professionals and acted as an extension of discussions held during our in-class visits.

After a impromptu fundraiser in December, support from the community covered my initial investment and editing costs for the first two episodes. However in an effort to keep this project alive and continue moving towards our long term goals, I am in search of support from parents, teachers and individuals like you, who see a need for connecting students with those in their local community who are actively pursuing their passion interests and achieving dream goals.

I am in search of $1000 dollars for editing of our final 3 episodes for the 2013-2014 academic year. As well as an additional $4000 dollars for filming, editing and travelling costs for five new episodes in the 2014-2015 academic year.

My long term vision for the BIKES Project is to build into a program that works with various cycling-supportive communities in North America (Vancouver/Whistler, Portland, Palo Alto, Boulder, etc) and introduces students to niche jobs in their community, planting the seed for possible future pursuits or share insight from those who've pursued their passion and are achieving a sustainable lifestyle rich in professional satisfaction and physical health.
