2. Albuquerque: The Unknown
In May of 2007, Sony Pictures Imageworks announced the opening of a satellite facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico that could take advantage of tax incentives offered by the state government.

Once in motion, employees of all tenure, and from many parts of the world, began moving to Albuquerque. Most knew absolutely nothing about the area. This is the story of the first forty employees who took the leap, and how they have come to experience the city of Albuquerque, and New Mexico.

Cool. Love it. The dude at 04:15 is just standing in the rain like nobody's business.
This is such great image on the city. Background for each interviewee is just amazing. Polar bears? WTF?
    Fantastic video. Hilarious.
Who wouldn't want to move to Albuquerque now?

@ Lee - Thanks for checking out the movie.

@ Sarah - Holy Klik animation Sarah!!!! How the hell have you been the last 10 years? Crazy question to answer isn't ...? I learned that you teach or taught at VFS, from my buddy Phan whom I now work with. Crazy small industry. Yeah not too many women out here, but we are trying to lure them in with the green chilies, but it hasn't been working so well. :)

@ Make Some Tea - Thanks for checking it out, really appreciate it. The guy in the rain is Josh one of the 2 guys who made the video. The poor guy was freezing the whole time trying to answer the questions without his brain shutting down. :) Well hopefully some people will be interested in at least learning more about what this place has to offer.

@ Sinan - Thank you for taking the time to check out the video.

What a fantastic love letter to a place I never would have considered there would have even 4 people in the industry, never mind more than 40! I've been in the business for 18 years, and this is the first time I have ever wanted to know what it was like to live in New Mexico. This awesome video made me think about what life there would be like. Congrats to you both, and thank you for sharing it with everyone.

I can't express how glad I am that I found this. Like the people interviewed in this doc (but with far less experience in the industry), I am pretty much blindly moving to Albuquerque in October to pursue production work. Everyone who I've spoken with have nothing but great things to say about the area and the people I know out there never want to leave. I've never been more exicted about something in my life.

I've already forwarded this to family and friends so they can get an understanding of "why the hell I'm moving to New Mexico."

    Awesome.

this was really great! Iv lived in New Mexico pretty much the majority of my life and moved to Albuquerque back in Sept of 08. I keep considering to move out of state to explore the film industry, yet the film industry has taken off here. This was great and makes me feel more comfortable for future reference of the city to settle in.

I moved from Santa Fe (where I grew up) a few years back to work as a VFX/MoGraph artist in LA. I work at Paramount studio now, but if I could go back home to my family and my green chile and still get paid like I do in LA I would do it in one second flat.

    Where do I sign up?
