Diesel Liquid Space
Diesel's Liquid Space fashion show was presented in late in 2007 and was a mind blasting presentation, including holograms and outstanding graphics. This is an edited version of the whole presentation, including the original soundtrack.

Nicely edited video and music.
awesome!
Are there actually people behind the catwalk, or is that just a reflection?
And yes, there are people behind the catwalk. The crowd was spread among both sides of the catwalk so they could experience the hologram.
This ViZoo product was also used on a Kate Moss/Alexander McQueen presentation in May 2006, but didn't have the same repercussion that this Diesel one had. As they hired more people to work on it and take it to another level.
A number of observant readers notice that the technology effectively reproduces flat images that appear to "float" in space. They are like 2D "sprites" in old computer games - flat images, but appearing to exist in a 3D space.
A very clever trick, to be sure, but nothing like the "holograms" we've come to expect from Star Trek, etc.
This is new media technology, and NOT science fiction.
If i use the term "hologram" is to simplify what is all about. The point is that these are 3D images floating on a space = hologram.
Period.
But usually when people say "hologram" they imagine a projected image that is 3D, i.e. you can view it from different angles and it appears to have depth, almost like it is actually there.
Projecting a flat, 2D image onto semi-reflective glass/perspex does not create anything like this effect. All I'm saying is that the term "hologram" may mislead, rather than simplify.
I love the graphics. And the concept. It really is a very clever device, and very clever technology.
Once again, I LIKE the trick. I think it's very clever. But we are still a long way from projecting a three dimensional, life-like image into "space", as has always been the goal of those attempting to create "volumetric displays", for example.
the music is nicely constructed as well.
peppers ghost has been around for a century, old hat idea that's recently been remarketed as 'holograms'.
My hat off to you all behind this!
