Reuben Mai represents a growing movement amongst young farmers- the next generation converting to organics. Three years ago, Reuben returned to his family dairy, which had long been conventional, and chemical fertilizer dependent. Reuben reduced their herd size to take the pressure off the pasture, promoting a healthy living soil by recycling cow manure, applying biodynamic composts and organic mineral fertilizers. The family farm enters its 100th year promoting the sustainability with a healthy herd, pasture, and product.
