I currently use a VX2000, editing on FCP Studio 2 and I still think it kicks ass. Unless it's Panasonic with that 24p option and amazing film-like resolution- don't get rid of your SD. We'll always be able to burn SD on a HD format anyways. They're called codecs and compressors. If you know what you're doing you can make SD look just as good as HDV with no effort whatsoever. I have a friend who dished out for Sony's new line of HDV's, and he complains about how my stuff still looks better than his after he blew 5 grand. I tell him, if you think money and a camera produces the quality- you should try your luck at another career. It's all in the filmmaker- not the equipment.
