Aaron Kodz is a director of emotional, narrative, cinematically stylish commercials, branded content, and other short form content that feature strong performances. Among his list of clients are Castrol, Mountain Dew, Google, Spalding, Reebok, Foot Locker Europe, Black Hole Recordings, and more.
Among his awards are selection to the 2014 SHOOT Online's New Director Showcase, a shortlist at the Cannes Young Director Award, a New Talent award from the Ciclope Festival, and multiple Telly Awards. His work has also screened at festivals across the country, including the Hollyshorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, and featured on websites such as VH1's Save the Music.
In addition to directing, Aaron also freelances as an editor. This, in addition to his director of photography background while in film school, serves to make his films as impactful and resonant as possible, as well as ensuring as much money as possible ends up in front of the camera.
Always looking for stories and situations that present challenges, Aaron utilizes his distinct visual style to communicate emotion, story, and character through each frame.
His love of commercials started in high school, when he began making small commercials with his father's camcorder – such simple times. When he's not behind the camera, he can be found cruising behind the wheel of his beloved Saab.
Aaron is currently a freelance director based out of NYC. For Eastern Europe and Canadian representation, please see cameracrew.ca/
